If your capacitor is worn out or starting to go, you might hear multiple \u201cclicks\u201d while the furnace starts up, meaning it\u2019s not getting the signal with just one. Thermostats are one of the most important components of your heating system, and it\u2019s also universally run with electricity. Just because your furnace operates with gas does not mean your thermostat does too.
